Balfour Beatty VINCI is proud to be designing and building a 90KM stretch of the West Midlands section of HS2. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Utilities Protection Supervisor within the Utilities Team.
This role will be Based in Berkswell, Solihull
With 13km of rural high-speed line Sublot 2B extends North from Dalehouse Embankment, through Warwickshire between Coventry and Kenilworth, Balsall Common and Burton Green to the River Blythe.
The strategy for Sublot 2B is to deliver the main structures enabling full connectivity across the two Network Rail corridor crossing – the Coventry to Leamington Spa Line and the West Coast Mainline at Carol Green. While supporting the mass haul of materials from Sublot 2A to Sublot 2B and onward to Sublot 5 South.
Embedded in the Sub-Lot Utilities Protection Team, the main purpose of the role is to ensure that all activities on site by any BBV Team and related supply chain working around and near services are compliant with all the BBV & HS2 policies, standards & measures established and agreed with the Statutory Undertakers and none are damaged or compromised, keeping the workforce safe and avoid any loss of services to the public. It also includes deployment, control & supervision on site related to the implementation & maintenance of any measures to establish effective protection of services, prevention of unauthorised access to exclusion zones, any activities related to site investigation related to the Utilities scope of works (diversions, protections, removals and assures) and a close collaboration across internal stakeholders and Statutory Undertakers.
Experience required
SMSTS/SSSTS
Relevant CSCS and EUSR Cards
Experience of working around utility services

Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
42 viaducts totalling over 11km
66 overbridges
More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km
• 56 culverts • 66 embankments reaching over 33km
Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures
Six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and overbridge structures
