Hours: 45 hours per week
Standard work pattern: Mon – Fri: 8am – 4:30pm
Sat: 8am – 1pm

Is this role for me?
Your role (Gate Operative) will be to oversee the safe marshalling of all traffic movements on site in accordance with Bristol Waste Company Policy and Procedures and in line with agreed customer and external legal requirements.
Key responsiblities:
Safely marshal and guide traffic in and out of the site
Sign people in and out of site (where required).
Oversee the gate at all times ensuring control of all traffic movements
Ensuring the site remains clean at all times
Assisting the trades on site (where required)
Managing the entrance to the operational areas, ensuring all waste goes to the correct location
Good communication and planning skills
Ensure PPE and Site Rules are followed at all times
Act as a reversing assistant
Maintaining site, vehicle and equipment cleanliness to a high standard, including daily vehicles checks on any vehicle driven, using correct tools as per training. This includes sweeping, shovelling and manually picking larger items
Complete, check and return all paperwork required in undertaking these duties, including the monitoring of all yard incidents
About you
Ability to organise and prioritise work
Ability to work independently, using initiative and as part of a team
Able to communicate effectively and appropriately in a range of situations
Basic computer skills or willingness to undertake training
Have experience of, or ability to demonstrate suitability for work involving traffic management
Experience or ability to demonstrate suitability for physical work involving the lifting of weights up to 25 kg and manual handling to include pushing/pulling waste
Ability to spend up to 8 hours a day on your feet walking up to 11 miles
Ability to operate computerised weighbridge (training will be provided)
Ability to undertake training on mobile plant as required
Desirable:
Class 2 LGV licence
Roll on Roll off experience
Current CPCS or NPORS Traffic Marshall qualification
Front end loader experience
