Job Purpose
We are recruiting a Site Support Operative to help us with the general upkeep of our site to a high standard, whilst helping the production and maintenance departments to maintain optimum efficiency by operating plant equipment and covering of breaks on machinery, whilst ensuring the health and safety of themselves and others are prioritised.
Key areas of responsibility
General up keep of the site to include (but not limited to):

Cleaning of all plant areas to a high standard
General site maintenance tasks
Gardening
Cleaning of company vehicles/plant equipment as required
Carrying out oil/greasing tasks on plant equipment as required
Packaging and disposal of waste bags post production
Loading infeed hoppers to support production
Co-ordination with contractors to ensure road sweeping activities are completed daily
Ensuring on-site waste disposal containers are managed
Sorting through pallets to ensure that damaged assets are disposed of correctly and usable assets are located in the correct area

Production/Maintenance support tasks:

Banksman duties
Unloading of tyre lorries using suitable plant equipment
Loading of containers with product ready for shipping
Assist the Maintenance team with maintenance activities you have been trained to undertake as required by the Maintenance Supervisor
Occasional manufacture of product in line with production targets
Operation of machinery and occasionally plant equipment in accordance with company procedures and safe methods of work across a varied recycling and manufacturing operation
Communicate with Supervisors and Management to ensure issues are dealt with in a timely manner
Ensure the Health and Safety of yourself and others around you, reporting any events to Shift Supervisor/Management

Additional duties
From time to time, you may be required to use a range of plant equipment to include:

FLT
Mechanical grab
Loading shovel

Assist the Maintenance team with any activities required as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor
Flexibility in carrying out other tasks as designated by the Maintenance Supervisor/Management
Qualifications and Experience

Experience working in a target driven, manufacturing environment
Experience operating medium sized machinery
Health and Safety qualification – IOSH Working Safely (Preferred)
Fork Lift Truck operator – 2 years experience (Preferred, not essential)
Mechanical grab operator – 2 years (preferred, not essential)
Loading shovel operator – 2 years (preferred, not essential)

Team player, able and willing to help others as required
Willing and able to work in open air environments and sometimes arduous conditions

Shift Pattern

Rotating earlies and lates: (6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm every week)
Must be willing to do overtime as per business requirements

Salary: £11.42-£12.36 per hour
