Role:
Within the Strategic Operations & Data Analytics team, our mission is to be the trusted partner for Operations who enable the business to perform at its best through strong governance, insights, and intelligence.
The Strategic Operations team, sit at the heart of the operational team and support the day-to-day business management and performance whilst driving future vision for operations.
The team lead on risk and compliance management, business planning, forecasting, strategic insights, resourcing, governance and much more.
This team is critical to the success of the operation at DCC and as a result, you will spend a lot of time engaging senior stakeholders including the Chief Operating Officer and the Senior Leadership team – if you are looking for the opportunity to develop your career, gain exposure and learn from experienced senior leaders, this is the perfect role for you!
The Senior Operational Risk and Compliance Manager will lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies, policies, and procedures, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
As our The Senior Operational Risk and Compliance Manager, you will:
Design and implementation of our operational risk framework: Develop, implement, and maintain the operational risk, issue and compliance frameworks, ensuring that robust policies, procedures and processes are in place, that identify and respond to all relevant scenarios.
Risk Assessment and Management: Work with the people at all levels across the operational team to identify and assess operational risks across the function. Work with stakeholders to develop strategies and action plans to mitigate risks, enhance controls, and improve overall risk posture.
Risk Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular risk and compliance reports to senior leadership, highlighting key findings, trends, and areas for improvement. Part of this will be establishing, quantifying, and tracking against operations ‘risk appetite’, i.e., the level of risk they are prepared to accept.
Strategic and Enterprise Risk Management: Take ownership on behalf of operations for any strategic and enterprise risks owned within the operation. Working with key risk and action owners within the operational team to ensure the relevant and timely actions are taking place to mitigate these high profile, business wide impacting risks.
Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about operational risk and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of risk awareness.
Risk Culture Promotion: Promote a strong risk and compliance culture throughout the organization by fostering open communication, providing guidance, and serving as a resource for risk-related inquiries.
Interface to central DCC risk team: Be an active contributor to the Group Risk and Compliance Committee, bringing relevant items for discussion.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other department heads and leaders to align efforts, drive collaboration and drive mitigating actions around cross functional risks.
We’re looking for:
Strong experience in operational risk management, compliance, or a related field.
A strong background in a maturing risk, issue and compliance landscape with a clear vision of what good looks like.
Demonstrable experience in creation and implementation of policies that ensure organisational control and compliance within both a regulated environment and corporate governance.
Structed and well organised self-starter with demonstrated success dealing with and overcoming ambiguity, operating in a high-growth environment, and solving problems with limited oversight.
Works well under pressure, with a high degree of adaptability and flexibility in a fast paced, complex and rapidly changing environment with the ability to negotiate/persuade and solve problems swiftly and effectively.
Excellent communication skills and someone who influences and gains trust to foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders promoting transparency in an open and trusting environment.
Proven thought leadership with the ability to lead, develop and manage others. Motivating and holding a matrix team accountable for delivering results.
