Radio Engineer required for a Radio hire company based near Wembley, London. He successful candidate will have previous experience in Radio Engineering. We are looking for an experienced Systems and Bench Engineer with an excellent background in primarily Motorola Solutions radiocommunication systems encompassing VHF/UHF conventional analog, MPT1327/1343 analog trunking & Digital DMR Systems including standard Push To Talk, IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus, Multi-Site Capacity Plus and preferably Capacity Max systems. Good knowledge of installing, programming and interrogating TRBOnet Enterprise, TRBOnet Plus, TRBOnet Watch and RDAC.

This a wonderful opportunity for an experienced RF Engineer to work for one of the top rated radiocommunications companies in the UK.

The successful applicant should have excellent knowledge of communal site engineering, cavity and hybrid TX combining working to FCS 1331 and a good knowledge of IP networking including setting up VPNs, switches, routers and liaising with clients IT teams to facilitate inter-site links for digital radio systems.

Experience with connectivity between a client’s fire & intruder alarms, BMS systems and other site alarms with a digital radio system using SMC Gateway, R-Link and other gateways would be preferential.

Experience with connectivity between WAVE PTX and Motorola Solutions radio system architecture would be preferential.

Radio Engineer Position Overview

Design and build of bespoke technical solutions in line with Sales customer requirements.

Design and build of bespoke technical solutions in line with Hire customer requirements.
Construct code plugs for client equipment and test to ensure compatibility with client’s wish list,
Installation and Servicing of client equipment either at the client’s site or at the Limited’s workshop.
Component level fault finding of mobile and hand-portable equipment.
Performing field installations where and when necessary
Provide technical assistance to customers in the field and on telephone calls.
Cover call-out duties in support of customer maintenance contracts (Extra payment for this support is provided).
Prepare post site visit and survey engineering reports, technical documentation, and training.
Provide on-site support for major events such as Football, NFL, Cricket, Boxing, concerts as required (Extra

payment for this support is provided.

Preparation of engineering reports, technical documentation, and training aids as required.
Contribute where and when necessary for the good and benefit of the engineering department.
Ensure deadlines and targets are met by the Service team
Consult with the Hire and Sales department to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high level of

competence.

Ability to travel at short notice either abroad or within the UK is expected but rarely asked for.

Radio Engineer Position Requirements

3+ years’ experience from either a military or commercial radiocommunications background.

RF propagation knowledge using passive or active Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) with regard to conforming to

coverage and ICNIRP guidelines.

Solid IT skills using database management (SQL) & networking topologies such as TCP/IP and UDP with regard to

DMR/PMR interconnectivity and software applications.

Must either be currently SC (security cleared) or held previously with the ability to re-new.
Excellent fault-finding ability either on radio or IP systems and software applications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SQL.

Desired:

Knowledge of PMR programming software – Primarily Motorola Solutions equipment portfolio but also Tait,

Simoco, Kenwood, ICOM and Hytera

Radio repair, where applicable down to component level.

Radio Engineer Position Remuneration

competitive package, dependent upon experience includes:

Salary of between £35,00.00-£45,000.00 per annum, dependent upon experience.
Profit related bonus scheme, based upon company profitability paid twice yearly.
Salary Review annually.
Fully Expensed Company van (Personal mileage allowed).
Life insurance after 3 months,
non-contributory pension (8% of salary).
28 days annual leave (Including Bank Holidays).
Long service holiday increments after 3-years.
Additional training, such as IT and manufacturer on-site courses will be fully expensed.

Schedule:

37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) although any site visit is expected to be completed on the day.
Overtime expected if site visits overrun.
