Mobile Janitor (0535), Uist Schools

Job Description
A Mobile Janitor is required for Uist Schools, being based at first in Sgoil Uibhist a Tuath.
Duties include: carrying out security procedures for school buildings and grounds, including keyholder responsibilities; handyperson duties; day-to-day operation and routine maintenance of boilers and heating plant as instructed; preparing classrooms/halls for school and/or public use; school crossing patrol and general supervision of pupils at intervals and open and close of school; supervision of community lets outwith school hours.

Requirements
You should have: an understanding of janitorial duties in a school; an organised and effective approach to the full range of janitorial duties; the ability to supervise pupils; the ability and knowledge to carry out routine maintenance on plant and equipment in school; experience of handyperson duties; a willingness to respond promptly to emergency call-outs.
A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
This is a fixed term post to 31 March 2024.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to post will be on the first point of the grade.
