A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING AND COMPLIANCE at THE GANTRY LONDON HOTEL
What you’ll be doing…
With a dotted reporting line to the Board and Curio GM, the Director of Engineering and Compliance will ensure full cooperation and coordination between the various operators within the Building, including Adagio, Curio, STK, RBH etc.
In addition, they will:
To take responsibility for Operational Health and Safety and Food Safety Management within the Curio.
To develop and implement suitable policies and protocols to manage the risks within the Curio and Gantry shared areas and services.
To monitor the Health, Safety Food Safety Management of other operators within the Gantry.
To provide competent support to facilities maintenance staff.
Be the primary point of contact for Health and Safety, and Compliance
To work with the Maintenance Team and the Facilities Manager to ensure all aspects of the Hotel and premises are managed safely and in line with
To work with the operators within the Gantry to ensure the safety and security of all staff, guests, and visitors.
Statutory Compliance:
Schedule routine servicing and testing of FLS systems within the Gantry to ensure legal regulatory compliance in relation to property and buildings, including but not limited to; fire safety, electrical testing, water hygiene/legionella, LOLER gas safety.
Collate and maintain all statutory compliance records.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and best practice.
Provide updates on a monthly basis on all new or amended Health and Safety legislation-related issues to the Board and all relevant staff as appropriate.
Facilities Management
Routine maintenance and servicing of all mechanical and electrical plant within the Gantry
Routine maintenance and repair of the fabric of the internal and external fabric of the building.
Ensure shared services and areas are maintained with all FLS systems routinely tested.
Contractors:
Selection and appointing competent contractors.
Monitoring contractor performance.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Facilities Management and Engineering within the hospitality sector. The role will also include managing the compliance of all operators within the building and ensuring adequate cooperation and coordination of maintenance, testing, and inspection of shared third-party services. Primarily reporting to the Curio General Manager, the role will also have a dotted reporting line to the landlord.
NEBOSH Safety Certificate or similar
Level III Food Hygiene qualification or better.
