Labourer / Yard Operative

Labourer / Yard Operative who is a good time-keeper with the ability to meet delivery schedules and support the manufacturing site with storing and moving material around the factory is required for a well-established business based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

SALARY: £12.15 per Hour + Overtime Available

LOCATION: Leeds, West Yorkshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 7:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 7:30 – 12:30 Friday. Overtime generally available weekdays and Saturday all paid at Time and a Half.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Labourer / Yard Operative who is a good time-keeper with the ability to meet delivery schedules and support the manufacturing site with storing and moving material around the factory.

Working as the Labourer / Yard Operative your duties will include:

Loading and unloading of Steel and Fabricated items

Checking in and out of all items 100%

Manual handling of timbers etc.

Storing of work to a safe organised manner prior to shipping

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Labourer / Yard Operative you will have the following skills and experience:

Able to Manage workload to meet all delivery times in & out

Work within the team to help move steel around factory

Work to Health & Safety regulations and training provided

Ability to work independently and part of a team

Good communication skills

Able to work at height

Forklift Truck licence – Gas

Overhead Crane

Slinging certificate

Banksman Training

Previous experience working in a steel fabrication factory or steel stockists

Knowledge of steel sections
