£55 – £60K plus great benefits package
A unique opportunity for an experienced Industrial Labour Engineer Manager to join our Supply Chain and Operations team to implement and maintain labour standards across warehouse and distribution operations throughout our UK depot network. Working closely with stakeholders at site you’ll identify and process improvements with a view to increase efficiencies and capacity and support the business on its journey of transformation and growth.
In this newly created role within the business, you’ll be working either independently or with other engineers through the complete life cycle of projects – from initial audit through to implementation. This role encompasses a wide range of activities. From the collection and analysis of data to develop and implement engineered labour standards, the implementation of work methods for warehouse and delivery activities to process improvement initiatives and system configuration and calibration. You will also support the continuous education of stakeholders, leaders, and colleagues on labour standard matters, using a variety of forums to support colleague engagement and buy in to any changes to ways of working.
To be successful in this role you will have experience developing and implementing engineered labour standards – ideally within a large-scale logistics or distribution environment. Your experience will include industrial labour engineering concepts, work measurement, standardisation and process improvement project work and you will also have experience with time study methodologies, MOST, MTM or Master Standard Data (MSD) including time study software and labour management systems. Experience in Lean Six Sigma or Lean concepts and methodologies would also be beneficial.
You will be a natural problem solver and be driven to make a positive difference and implement change. An effective communicator, you will have the ability to engage and influence colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. You will be confident and comfortable managing change and have an adaptable approach to planning your workload in response to changing business priorities. Whilst this role is home based, there will be extensive travel across our depot network which may involve overnight stays.
In return we offer a great basic salary, generous holiday allowance plus the option to purchase more, pension plus huge discounts on award- winning products. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to further enhance your skills through our Learning & Development programmes. In Brakes you can really be anything you want to be!
