Flexible Security Guard

K9 Protection Ltd are an SIA Approved Contractor based in South Wales. We have a requirement to increase the size of our team with a team of relief security staff.
This is a flexible zero-hours role where you can pick your shifts from a list, for permanent hours positions, please see our other listings.
We provide security for sites including construction, and student housing.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD AN IN-DATE SIA LICENCE AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A 5 YEAR CHECKABLE HISTORY IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE.
Whilst the assignment instructions will vary from site to site, the essential requirements for the role will be made up of the following:

Carrying out foot-patrols within timed parameters
Carrying out both vehicle and personal searches as and when permitted in line with the assignment instructions and client wishes.
Monitor any intruder and fire alarm systems, and respond in line with the assignment instructions.
Using the patrol management system to log the patrol as it occurs, which may include tapping against various tags placed in strategic locations around the site.
Using the patrol management system to make notes of anything you consider relevant to be included on both the patrol log and the incident report.
If an incident occurs on site, the security officer will be expected to:
Log the incident on the incident management software as soon as possible after realising the incident.
Where there is an immediate requirement for an emergency service response, the job holder will be required to make the initial emergency call, and cooperate fully with the emergency services upon their arrival, acting as the official representative for K9 Protection Ltd until a senior member of staff is in attendance.
Basic reception duties which could include handing out mail, answering phones, or signposting building users to out of hours services may be required.
Working within health and safety guidelines to ensure the safety of the employee and others.
Each guard will be expected to hand over to their relief at the end of a shift, whether this be a client or another member of K9 Protection Ltd staff.
The uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for each specific role will be laid out in the relevant assignment instructions. As part of the security officer’s role they will be required to wear this as directed. PPE and uniform (excluding trousers) will be provided free of charge.
