We are looking for experienced port operatives and plant operators with a flexible attitude to work and a reliable nature to join our Operations team working in the Humber region to help support the safe, efficient and successful running of the ports. You will be a proactive and safety conscious individual who will work with multiple cargo types, plant and machinery to agreed targets and deadlines.
Following the onboarding process, your day-to-day operational activities could include:

Slinging and Banking
General Stevedoring
Chocking/timbering
Various plant operations
Tallying

Essential Requirements

Experience of working in a port environment
Pro-active attitude to Health and Safety and a willingness to contribute to/improve Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
Experience of working in a busy & fast paced environment with the ability to work towards set targets.
Strong team working abilities and a can-do attitude.
Good communication skills.
Able to reliably commute to place of work.
Willing and able to work outdoors in all conditions.
Full UK driving licence (car or motorbike) and own transport.

Desirable Requirements

Numeracy and Literacy skills.
Previous experience of contributing to Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work.
Experience of operating plant and equipment in a similar industrial environment (Crane driving and Cargo Lashing would be particularly advantageous).
HGV licence / Haulage experience
Terminal tractor / Tug operator
Container / Bulk experience

General Information

We expect the role-holder to be able to work at a variety of terminals and ports within the Humber region to ensure adequate cover at all times.
Shifts are subject to operational requirements, typically 0600 start but as per customer requirements
Cleaning of equipment and site and assisting in various other port duties some of which may be of a physical nature and may include working at height.
Candidates will be required to provide references on request, and job offer is subject to passing the onboarding processs which will include Drug and Alcohol screening.

Salary: £10.86-£13.00 per hour

Forklift Licence (any type) (preferred)
