Times of work
10-hour shifts between the times of 6am and 8pm dependant on the site and operational requirements. The shifts will be 5 days over 7 including Bank Holidays. This equates to 50 hours per week contractually.
Salary
£36,400, hourly rate of £14
Terms of the role
Full time and permanent, subject to 6-month probationary period
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Environmental Multi-Site Officer, you will be required to:
Patrol the borough in an intelligence led manner, witnessing, and investigating criminal offences.
Engaging and educating members of the public and when appropriate, enforcing legislation by way of issuing “on the spot” Fixed Penalty Notice’s for littering, dog fouling, fly-tipping, graffiti, fly posting, anti-social behaviour, commercial waste, domestic waste, and other related contraventions as required. Brand Ambassadors for the local authority and 3GS (UK) Ltd.
Patrolling the area of principal littering authority in accordance with an agreed deployment strategy.
Investigating complaints made by elected members and members of the public.
Engaging and educate members of the public regarding Environmental Crime.
Interacting directly with offenders and issue Fixed Penalty Notices for authorised offences in accordance with legislation, ensuring that the evidential and public interest tests have been met.
Compiling a full notebook entry and witness statement for every issued Fixed Penalty Notice.
Obtaining and validate the personal particulars of an offender by contacting the Operational Support Team.
Attending Court and giving evidence if required.
Work across various company contracts and train officers to a high standard.
Ensure that new starters into the company are provided with a thorough and supportive integration into the industry, helping with legislation, equipment and how to engage with the public.
When training is not required you will work across our different contracts in a mobile support capacity, potentially covering empty shifts depending on our operational needs.
Requirements:
Flexible: All job roles could be subject change due to operational and client needs
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the enforcement industry
Knowledgeable of EPA 1990 Legislation, specifically around our core offences on all sites of littering and dog fouling
Confident of working in a pressured and occasionally confrontational workplace and meeting KPI requirements
Self-motivated and highly reliable
Driving licence and own vehicle, mileage allowance is provided.
Please note that all candidates will have to go through a DBS process prior to employment and will need a full five-year checkable work history.
FLEXABILITY
All job roles could be subject change due to operational and client needs. You may be asked to take on other tasks within the business during certain periods of a working week.
