This role will endeavour to support the client to deliver industry leading services. As the forefront of the business, it will be expected that you will hold the best in business customer service to all stakeholders. You will be required to deploy to the highest risks areas/locations to support our client where it’s needed and take a proactive approach to new age guarding.
2. Key Purpose
To ensure between the hours of 06:00-06:00 365 days of the year the security of ConocoPhillips Main Site facility and the protection off compay property from theft and damage through: –

The control and monitoring of entry and exits of all persons & vehicles into and out of the facility.

Specific emergency duties in the event of a fire/plant emergency.

3. Key Responsibilities
Main Site CSO – Principal Duties
Access Control

Control and monitor vehicular and pedestrian traffic entering and leaving company facilities, though the operation of an automatic access control system.

Process and manage visitors in an efficient and friendly manner while on the facility.

Ensure all visitors view Visitors Safety DVD or in possession of a valid ‘Visitors Safety Training’ card.

De-matching of visiting personnel entering site.

Enfocce site rules, i.e., relating to passengers disembarking from vehicles at site exit/entry.

Enforce site rules, i.e., children/animals not allowed onto site.

Issue plant radios to contract personnel. Report radios not working.

Collect vehicle inspection tags and certificates vehicles.

Ensure that all visitor cards have been returned and stored correctly.

Ensure that all delivery vehicles are sent or escorted to the correct recipient.

Arrange escort for visitors to site if required.

Check that all muster readers are operational on a weekly basis.

Security

Undertake security checks of buildings, plant area and access gates, by providing regular patrols on Main, Jetty, Greatham sites & Wynyard offices.

Undertake anti-trespass, anti-theft & fire prevention patrols throughout the plant and along the facility perimeter fencing & T.H.P.A access road.

Undertake continual surveillance of key plant areas, using CCTV (monitors located in the Main Gatehouse).

Open and close emergency gates on request from authorised personnel.

Open or secure doors/buildings at the request of authorised personnel.

Maintain daily occurrence logs and Daily Report Book.

Carry out random vehicle searches daily.

Carry out random personnel searches daily.

Report any faults/defects, which may be found whilst on patrol.

Report any Health and Safety hazard identified whilst on patrol.

Ensure that the site P2000 access system is functioning normally.

Emergency Procedures

Operate the plant emergency alarm panel and tannoy message system at the Main Gatehouse in a fire/emergency/evacuation situation.

Act as a first line First Aider in emergency situations, or as directed by the Emergency Controller.

Assist if required, in the movement of external emergency vehicles during a site emergency.

Check direct line to Cleveland Fire Brigade daily. Ensure this is logged on appropriate document.

Test all Main Site alarms & tannoy messages weekly.

Carry out correct procedure when computer suite temperature alarm is activated.

Carryout correct procedures when Admin-Cafeteria-Laboratory-Fire Station-Warehouse-Workshops-fire alarms are activated.

Respond to messages via the Cleveland Emergency Alarm Scheme (CEAS) and pass information as necessary.

Listen and respond to radio calls for Security on Channels 1 and 3.

Ensure that site roads are kept free from obstructions.

Carry out a weekly test run & equipment check of site emergency ambulance.

Deploy site ambulance when required.

Receive emergency calls via 333 telephone or plant radio system and log.

Initiate plant alarms & tannoy messages when instructed.

Broadcast emergency messages as instructed.

Obtain wind speed and direction when required.

Prepare route cards for emergency vehicles and have radio available if required.

Keep access ways clear for emergency vehicles.

Call out Incident Management Team when requested by authorized personnel.

Prepare Admin Building or Wynyard office for arrival of Incident Management Team.

Follow Bomb Threat Procedure if bomb threat message is received.

Carry out Toxic Emission Procedures if notified of a toxic release.

CCTV

Ensure CCTV system is functioning normally.

Ensure CCTV system is in surveillance mode except when recording an incident.

Ensure that periodic surveillance is carried out covering surrounding areas, car parks and perimeter fencing using CCTV system.

Ensure that CCTV camera screens are kept clean.

Ensure that any faults with CCTV system are promptly recorded and reported.

5. Competences

SIA licenced.

First Aid certified.

I.S.P.S. certified.

Excellent I.T. skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Always polite & well mannered & well presented at all times.

Hold a full driver’s licence & COP drivers permit.

P.S.I. trained.

C.B.T. Confined space trained.
