We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to work within the Highway Services to support the On and Off street Parking for Bridgend County Borough Council, with enforcement of appropriate traffic management schemes including Civil Parking Enforcement, Residential Parking schemes creating an environment which delivers a first class service to the residents whilst being fair to all highway users The role of the Civil Enforcement Officer is to provide an efficient and effective service of parking enforcement both on street and off street. In accordance with Council’s objectives, procedures and policies, your role will be to prevent illegal parking of vehicles as well as ensuring that valid pay & display tickets are displayed and to issue Penalty Charge Notices as necessary. This is an interesting and wide ranging role, where the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective and safe operation of the Authorities car parks, reporting defects, checking machines and enforcement if appropriate, in addition to opening and locking of a number of car parks, whilst providing quality customer service, information and assistance to all users. Patrols will be both on foot or may involve driving the mobile enforcement vehicle during the shift, and patrols will be across the Borough, in addition to cash collection duties as directed by the management team. The successful candidate will be expected to work on their own initiative, be able to communicate in a friendly but effective manner. You will have good road safety awareness, strong observational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision. You must have a flexible approach to work, as your role will involve working an average of 37 hours per week to an agreed roster working 20 days out of 28 days, including weekends and both early and late shifts, and a range of duties related to the Parking team roles and responsibilities, there is a requirement to work within this shift pattern, as determined by your Supervisors or Manager. Enhancements will be paid for any overtime and weekend working. Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, the successful applicant will be expected to attend locations within the County Borough and drive the Authorities vehicles Paper sift 30 November 2023
