Banksman (Ad-Hoc)

Sea-Cargo Aberdeen Ltd, provides a wide range of stevedoring, shipping and logistics support services from a modern, integrated facility in the Port of Aberdeen.
With our considerable experience, comprehensive services and facilities, we can offer our customers a total logistics package for activities within the port of Aberdeen on a 24 hour, seven days a week basis.
We are looking for banksmen to join our experienced team handling quayside duties for the loading and discharging vessels.
This is an ad-hoc role, on as an and when basis with overtime work available.
Responsibilities and Duties

Banksman slinger operations, quayside and vessel hold based
Ensuring all tasks are carried out safely
Following the vessel foreman instruction at all times
Ensure loads are slung correctly prior to lifting
Promote safe working at all times
Visually inspect lifting equipment during operations and immediately report damages

Qualifications and Skills

Valid slinger / banksman certification
Experience in port operations
Experience working alongside cranes
Be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of lifting operations
Be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of slinging operations
Clear communicator
High level of reliability
Valid RTITB Forklift certification would be beneficial
