An exciting opportunity to join the Global Alpha Fund team as an
Associate and work for CBRE Global Investment Management’s flagship global, core plus, open end fund product. The Global Alpha Team is dynamic and this role sits at the heart of the day-to-day operations including close interaction with the Fund Manager and wider portfolio management and investment team.
Global Alpha is diversified across geographies and sectors, using a range of investment structures including funds, joint ventures, co-investments, club deals, listed investments and direct assets. This role includes portfolio management responsibilities for the Global Alpha Fund including input on portfolio strategy, investment selection, portfolio monitoring, and client relationship management.
As a member of the portfolio management team for Global Alpha you will be responsible for contributing to superior investment performance. Work directly with the Fund Manager. Proactively contribute to portfolio strategy. Assess new investment opportunities. Review and monitor existing portfolio holdings via detailed performance attribution analysis. Work with Client Solutions to enable coherent, insightful reporting to investors. Oversee the production of portfolio metrics with the Performance Analytics team.
Responsibilities:
Think independently, evaluate investment opportunities, and provide recommendations as part of the Fund Management team.
Apply a thorough evidence-based approach to all investment and portfolio management decisions.
Collaborate with the regional investment teams, performance analytics team, and financial operations team to aggregate portfolio data and insights.
Contribute to Fund quarterly reporting process.
Review existing holdings and perform detailed performance attribution. Present at portfolio oversight committee meetings.
Assist Client Solutions with RFP/DDQ responses and other investor queries.
Key Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience with a preference, but not a requirement, for experience in a multi asset investment management or real estate investment management environment
Prior experience working on or alongside an open-end fund would be ideal, but not required.
Advanced analytical, quantitative skills and attention to detail
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Python, R, SQL, Power BI or Tableau preferable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience producing dynamic written content and presentation materials.
Excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment
Demonstrable experience of process improvement
