Job Description Summary
Are you an experienced Finance professional looking for your next opportunity?

We’re looking for an Associate Director to join us in our Capital, Recovery and Resolution and Non-Bank Entity team, working in Treasury.

You’ll be joining a diverse team, in a fast-paced environment, with scope to learn, develop and grow. With significant opportunities for visibility to senior management, you’ll build your network across the organisation whilst taking a lead role in high profile work for the Group. This is a great role for an individual who thrives in thought leadership, influencing senior colleagues, and joining the dots across multiple areas of activity.

Day to day you could be involved in leading any of the following;

The issuance of capital bonds and strategies for optimisation of our equity and debt stack including structuring share buy backs.
The capital position of the Group and its subsidiaries including setting risk appetite and planning in base and stress.
Recovery and Resolution planning for the Group, with this being the heart of the Group’s preparation for if we were ever facing a likelihood of failure; an important topic as recently reemphasised by market events in Switzerland and the US.
The Holding Company’s balance sheet including cash and liquidity risk management and market risk management
The treasury activities of our non-bank entities, LBG Equity Investments Limited and Scottish Widows Group including strategic optimisation.

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

What you’ll need

In order to be at your best in this role, you’ll need to be comfortable dealing with senior colleagues across Treasury and the wider group, as well as interacting with external parties such as investment banks, law firms and regulators.

Experienced in capital markets, capital planning, recovery and resolution planning or related regulatory topics, funding and liquidity, or other relevant treasury experience.
Proactive in building and maintaining relationships across a range of different stakeholders.
The ability to prioritise your workload and adapt to challenges as they present themselves.
Attention to detail and ability using excel

And any experience of these would be really useful

Curiosity and problem-solving skills with the ability to convey seemingly complex concepts simply and succinctly
Confident in formulating proposals and recommendations, and presenting to senior management.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime. Due to this, you’ll be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role.

Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks.

As a certified colleague your details will be published on the FCA’s Financial Services Register.

This role has been identified as a Client-dealing function under SYSC 27.8.18R as defined in the FCA Handbook.
