Who we are
Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK’s only international high-speed railway, High Speed (HS1).
The 109km HS1 infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. NRHS is also responsible for operating and maintaining three international stations; St Pancras, Ebbsfleet and Stratford International.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client ‘HS1 Ltd’, undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations – through to station facilities management and retail on behalf of our client.

Brief Description
As Part of the M&E team you will be responsible for maintaining and fault finding on a wide variety of assets, from tunnel fire hydrant systems to testing and inspecting on lighting and distribution systems.
The role
An opportunity to work in the M&E team on a unique set of assets that are bespoke to the only high speed line in the country. If you like a challenge and learning new skills. This is an opportunity to apply your skill set to something new!
We are excited to be introducing an additional Team Leader into our M&E team.
Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
Knowledge of discipline specific maintenance, inspection, faulting and renewal techniques
Knowledge of relevant standards procedures and instructions.

About the role (External)
The person
So, who are we looking for? If you can answer ‘yes’ to the following questions, then we look forward to receiving your application.
Do you have:
Hold either an NVQ Level 3 and City & Guilds, or an ONC/HNC
Have several years of experience working in either maintenance or installation.
Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
Experience developing others
Have a full driving licence, to drive vehicles as required by the business?
Be willing to learn new skills and maintain a wide range of mechanical and electrical assets in addition, some more specialised equipment
Have completed an approved apprenticeship in either Electrical engineering or Mechanical engineering
Possess at least five years’ post apprenticeship experience (or equivalent) with knowledge of some or all of the following:
ELECTRICAL:
Uninterruptable power supplies
Building services
Pumps and fans
HVAC systems
Electrical distribution
HV switching
MECHANICAL
Fire hydrant/firefighting systems
Pump stations and drainage
Pumps and valves
Salary £48470 + Location Allowance
