Banksman

Our client is a leading construction company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Banksman to join our team in Peterborough. As a Banksman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of construction operations on our sites. Your primary responsibility will be to guide and direct vehicle and machinery movements, coordinate with the site team, and maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Safely guide and direct the movement of vehicles, including reversing and manoeuvring, within the construction site.
Communicate effectively with drivers, operators, and other personnel involved in construction operations.
Assist in the implementation and enforcement of health and safety policies, ensuring compliance at all times.
Maintain a clear and organised traffic management system, utilising appropriate signage and signals.
Regularly inspect and report any potential hazards or risks, taking appropriate action to mitigate them.
Collaborate with the site team to ensure the efficient flow of materials, minimising disruptions and delays.
Provide support to the wider site operations as required, including manual handling and general labour tasks.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Banksman in a construction environment.
Valid Banksman/Slinger certificate.
Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction sites.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues and contractors.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks when necessary.
A positive attitude towards safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
